Financial Analyst - Valuations - Private Equity

The Financial Analyst will assist with quarterly valuations of portfolio companies; portfolio monitoring, including capturing portfolio company financial information and preparing various analysis thereon; assisting with quarterly reports to limited partners on portfolio company performance and other special projects as assigned.  The Financial Analyst will work closely with members of the firm’s investment team and other members of the firm’s finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly valuations:

  • Update key assumptions for calculations

  • Update public company comparables

  • Assist associates with updating portfolio company valuations

  • Assist with preparation of quarterly valuation report to send to valuation committee including comparison of key valuation metrics to prior quarter valuations

  • Assist with portfolio company monitoring:

  • Liaise with associates and portfolio companies to obtain quarterly portfolio company financials and upload on SharePoint

  • Maintain schedule of key portfolio company metrics

  • Respond to investor requests as needed

  • Assist with preparation of the quarterly and annual letters

  • Assist with providing information and researching questions regarding valuations in connection with the annual audit of the funds’ financial statements

  • Assist with special projects

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience

  • A proven track record of academic and professional excellence

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Solid understanding of financial statements, accounting concepts and financial modeling (DCF Models)

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work in dynamic environment

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, Power Point and Word

Equity Derivatives Valuation Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

Dynamics Associates is currently working with a global investment management firm. This firm is looking to expand their Operations & Middle Office team by bringing on an Equity Derivatives Valuation Specialist. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building out the firm’s internal system infrastructure focusing on the pricing and valuation of equity volatility products. This individual will also be responsible for maintaining, monitoring and establishing new procedures and controls as well as, support the end of day pricing of the products that are being valued.

Qualifications:

  • 3-7 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree.

  • Knowledge of VBA or related programming languages (SQL, MATLAB, R, Python, etc.)

  • Knowledge of Equity Options pricing models and standard volatility configurations.

  • Experience in analyzing and reporting on volatility P&L.

  • Must have the ability to prioritize in a fast moving, high pressure environment that is consistently changing.
