Risk Data Management

Our client, an International Investment Bank, is seeking a Risk Data Management professional to join their Risk Department. This role will focus on executing data governance, enhancing operational data quality, leading data-related initiatives, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, including BCBS 239. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in risk data management within financial services and a proven ability to drive data quality improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee data governance initiatives and ensure adherence to regulatory and internal policies.

  • Act as a data steward, promoting standardized data definitions and best practices.

  • Define, monitor, and maintain risk data assets, including key data elements and data lineage documentation.

  • Establish and track data quality metrics, producing regular scorecards and reports.

  • Identify and resolve data quality issues in collaboration with internal stakeholders and the Chief Data Office (CDO) team.

  • Ensure risk reporting is accurate, timely, and effectively communicated to key stakeholders.

  • Work closely with technology teams to implement data governance tools and enhance master data management solutions.

  • Provide subject matter expertise on risk data and support technology and regulatory projects.

  • Collaborate across departments to escalate and address data-related issues proactively.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).

  • Strong expertise in data governance, data quality management, and risk reporting.

  • Experience with industry-standard data governance tools (e.g., Collibra).

  • Familiarity with banking data systems, including SQL, NoSQL, and cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure).

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Strong leadership capabilities, including experience managing teams and cross-functional collaborations.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), with preferred experience in data visualization tools.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
