Product Control Vice President
Our Investment Banking client is looking for a Vice President to play a key role in the finance function, serving as a bridge between business units and senior management. This role requires strong expertise in financial products, risk management, and regulatory reporting to ensure the accuracy of P&L statements and balance sheets. The ideal candidate will lead a team, manage workflows effectively, and collaborate with key stakeholders across finance, operations, and treasury functions to support strategic decision-making and financial oversight in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage financial oversight of treasury and market activities, ensuring accurate and timely ledger reporting.
Analyze and validate financial results, providing senior management with critical insights into P&L and balance sheet trends.
Oversee P&L attribution and business unit reporting for securities and treasury activities.
Develop and produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including disclosures for regulatory and home office reporting.
Partner with ATD on new products and initiatives to ensure proper accounting treatment and control adherence.
Identify and implement process improvements, ensuring data integrity, operational efficiencies, and effective risk management.
Collaborate with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
Generate Net Interest Margin (NIM) analysis and related liquidity premium reporting.
Review and assess cost of fund allocations in coordination with trading desks.
Lead the monthly balance sheet substantiation process and ensure accuracy in financial disclosures.
Participate in strategic finance initiatives, including regulatory compliance, process automation, and the implementation of an Intermediate Holding Company (IHC).
Assist Financial Control with key external reports, including disclosure commentary and other regulatory submissions.
Qualifications & Skills:.
10+ years of experience in product and valuation controls. As well as in in financial management, treasury, or related fields.
Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of team management and development.
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Expertise in Fair Value, Accrual, and Hedge Accounting principles, as well as investment and loan accounting.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage expectations from senior stakeholders.
Sound ethical judgment and ability to manage risk effectively.
Experience working with financial disclosures and external reporting requirements.
Extensive experience in product control within global markets.
Proven ability to manage and influence cross-functional teams.
Direct experience in leading and mentoring financial teams.
Strong understanding of risk management, liquidity reporting, and balance sheet analysis.
