Operations Associate
A motivated Operations Associate is sought to join the Operations team, playing a critical role in supporting trading activities and ensuring accurate and timely processing of trade data. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in the middle office from both sell-side and buy-side perspectives, with a specialization in credit default swaps (CDS). This position offers an excellent opportunity to enhance the operational efficiency of a leading hedge fund.
Key Qualifications:
2-3 years of experience in a CDS middle office role at a bank, along with 1-2 years of buy-side operations experience. Alternatively, candidates with 5 years of experience in a CDS middle office role at a bank will also be considered.
Proficiency in TradeServ and ICELink.
Proven ability to troubleshoot issues with counterparties and support desks using TradeServ and ICELink.
Experience with Equity Total Return Swaps (TRS) and OTC derivatives processing, including lifecycle events (resets).
Familiarity with equity-related corporate actions (splits, spin-offs, etc.).
Knowledge of VBA is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Reconcile daily trades, investment positions, and cash balances with external parties, including banks, prime brokers, counterparties, and custodians.
Review and process OTC long-form confirmations and electronic confirmations via platforms such as TradeServ, ICE, CME, and MarkitWire.
Maintain data integrity, including updates to the security master, fee/commission schedules, and holiday calendars.
Assist in the development and enhancement of operational processes.
Resolve settlement discrepancies for cash securities, including equities, bonds, and listed options.
Execute the firm’s end-of-day P&L process and identify any issues that may impact P&L.
